Once upon a time

Internationally acclaimed as a leading dancer, Margaret has followed a professional dancing formation in Lausanne-Switzerland. She flew away thereafter to Japan, Norway, Belgium, and France to perform both in classic repertoire choreographies such as "Swan Lake, Nut-Crackers, Gisele, Coppelia and in the Balanchine choreographies : Square Dance, 4 Temperaments, Agon, Tchaïkovski Pas-de-Deux...etc. She also performed with different dance companies : Vicente Nebrada, Violette Verdi, J-P Comelin, J-P Bonnefou and many others.

Since 1976 she has been a dancer, a dance teacher and a choreographer. She took part in several international contests both as a dancer and an assessment officer.

From points shoes to oriental slippers, a few years later, she decided to switch over to her north African origins, and designed a 12-lesson oriental dance method to train dancers.

What makes her method so special is her multidisciplinary concern to promote all trends in dancing. She has written several booklets : in relation with dancing as well as the effects which dancing has on individuals and has also written about the values of oriental eastern types of dances (both on dancing and the outcome and the values of oriental dance).

She has been asked to lecture in conferences on dance and gesture issues, making relations throughout history between secular, sacred and primitive dance patterns.

Sohaleila has been developing and promoting oriental dances in all kinds of associations, fitness clubs and restaurants. 20 trained students are either dancers or dance teachers.

Founder of the school and of the dance company "International Scalène Dance", she has created at the same time an artistic agency and a boutique for dance equipments and costumes. This agency is meant to advertise dance performances and also dance costumes from North Africa, Turkey and Egypt for professional dancers.

Located in Lausanne - CH, the Oriental Dance Studio in undoubtedly the only place in Switzerland where students can follow a professional training taking into account the various aspects and trends of dancing in addition it is also the only studio decorated in pure oriental style. Dance performances can take place in this typical oriental environment.

The oriental dance studio is located in Lausanne and is undoubtedly the only one in Switzerland for professional dancers training with different aspects of dance training.

In addition to that feature, the decoration of the studio is in pure oriental style and dance performances can take place in this such a typical oriental environment.
